THE COLLEGE AUDITION founded by Tim Evanicki, provides full-service college audition prep programming for students who are pursuing college degrees in theatre and musical theatre, and their parents. In addition to private, one-on-one Coaching Packages, TCA’s regular programming also includes: single-day on-campus workshops which immerse students in college life for a day; Prescreen and Mock Audition workshops in NYC and other major cities; The College Audition Conservatory, a week-long summer intensive at which students and their parents work with faculty from the country’s top musical theatre programs; The Florida Combined Auditions,  in partnership with the Straz Center’s Patel Conservatory brings colleges to Florida to hold  auditions for their program AT NO CHARGE TO THE STUDENT; and our newest addition, The Spotlight App, a FREE online web-based app which has endless resources available to students and parents including a database of colleges and programs, a video series, a materials vault, and more organizational tools than you ever knew you needed. It is the mission of Tim Evanicki, and his entire faculty of coaches and support staff, to make the college audition process as accessible, affordable, and stress-free as possible.

Tim Evanicki (He/Him)

President, Lead College Audition Coach

Tim Evanicki is a celebrated Juilliard-educated voice teacher and singer, who has traveled extensively, singing on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

As a celebrated voice teacher, Mr. Evanicki has prepared his students go on to follow in his footsteps, attending some of the nation’s leading music schools and musical theater programs. His students have been seen on the stages of Broadway, Regional Theatre, National Tours, London’s West End, and in Feature Films.

Tim has been preparing students for their college auditions for 18 years. As a sought-after master class clinician in the areas of voice and college audition preparation, Tim tours the country each year working with thousands of students.  He is author of the book “The College Audition: A Guide for High School Students Pursuing a Degree in Theatre” and the host of The College Audition Podcast, available on all major podcast networks.

Emma McGlinchey (She/Her)

Coordinator

Emma is from Glasgow, Scotland where she grew up performing and eventually earned her BA Honors in Music from the University of Strathclyde. After a few years of performing in Scotland she moved to NYC to further her education and in 2015 graduated from the Musical Theatre Conservatory program at the New York Film Academy. Since graduating, Emma has toured the UK in productions of Aladdin and Dick Whittington, worked for both Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Line and she also spent time in China, music directing original musicals across several schools.

Her most notable roles to date include ‘Florence’ in Chess and , ‘Nettie’ in Carousel, both at the American Theatre of Actors. In 2018, she was honored to perform in Abingdon Theatre Company’s production of Closer Than Ever, honoring Donna Murphy and recently starred alongside West End and Broadway star, Kerry Ellis, in Movies to Musicals at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Adam Kaplan (He/Him)

Associate Coach

Adam currently stars as Simon Lovewell on the acclaimed Fox TV show The Big Leap. He was most recently seen on Broadway in A Bronx Tale opposite Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri. Other Broadway/National Tours: Kinky Boots (Charlie Price), Newsies (Jack Kelly u/s), Show Boat (NY Philharmonic and PBS). Other TV: Deception (ABC). Multiple shows at Goodspeed, Flat Rock Playhouse and Music Theatre Wichita. Numerous concerts and productions internationally and across the US, including a solo performance for the Obamas at the White House. He is set to star in the upcoming Broadway-aimed musical version of The Outsiders at The Goodman in Chicago.

Adam is a proud alumni of Elon University (BFA Music Theatre). In addition to performing, Adam teaches around the country serving as a mentor for young artists.​

Kimberly Doreen Burns (She/Her)

Associate Coach

Kimberly is a New York City based award-winning singer, actor, performer, and educator who recently originated the role of Maya in the New York City premiere of Sideways (based on the Academy Award Winning film). Top theatre critics have dubbed her a “golden-voiced vocalist,” “a luminous life-force with a crystalline soprano voice,” and “one of the best voices I’ve heard in musical theatre.” Outside of New York City, Kimberly has performed in National Tours, Internationally in Japan and Taiwan with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, worked for Disney as a lead singer, and has been fortunate enough to play some of the musical theatre’s most celebrated leading roles at the nation’s leading regional theatre to critical acclaim. She is also the co-host of the The Visceral Voice Podcast, where she promotes vocal, body, and mental health.

Todd VanSlambrouck (He/Him)

Associate Coach

Todd holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from The Ohio State University, where he had the privilege of performing in works by choreographers including Mark Morris, Bebe Miller, and Larry Keigwin. Over his career, he was a company member with Garth Fagan Dance, Columbus Dance Theatre and GroundWorks DanceTheatre. He performed in production shows at sea on Holland America and Norwegian Cruise Lines, as well as internationally at Tokyo Disney Resort. Currently he is on faculty at the Finger Lakes Ballet Academy and is excited to join the team at The College Audition.

Miles Jacoby (He/Him)

Associate Coach

Miles Jacoby is an actor, singer, and educator based in Brooklyn, New York. He was last seen on Broadway as the standby for Elder Price in THE BOOK OF MORMON, which he continued in both national tours. He also crossed the country as Bob Gaudio in the First National Tour of JERSEY BOYS. In New York, Miles has been seen in countless readings and workshops of new plays and musicals, as well as the world premiere of Sean Graney’s THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES at the Flea Theater downtown. Regionally, favorite roles include the Dentist in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, Che in EVITA, and Sky in MAMMA MIA. Miles received his BA from Yale University where he majored in Theater Studies and served as Vice President of the Yale Dramat. He also recently graduated with an MFA from The Juilliard School. When not teaching or performing, Miles can be found throwing a ball with his Australian labradoodle, Maddie, in Fort Greene Park or kicking back with a Sudoku puzzle. www.milesjacoby.com

Maite Zakia (She/Her)

Maite is originally from São Paulo, Brazil. She grew up prforming musical theatre in Brazil and since 2015 has been expanding her carreer in the USA. She graduated in May of 2017 from New York Film Academy, and since then has had the opportunity to perform throughout the city, in roles such as Sally Bowles at the production of Cabaret, and was recently part of the first original Brazilian musical in NYC, “Out Of Water”. She also graduated from FACAMP in Brazil with a major in Advertising and Marketing, with a minor in Digital Design.
