Audition Requirements

INTRODUCTION (“SLATE”)

overview

There should not be a separate introduction or “slate” video. Instead, “slates” are to appear at the beginning of each piece and included as part of the time allotment.

SONGS

overview

Students should prepare two contrasting pieces. Each institution is responsible for indicating which options are accepted.

MONOLOGUE

DANCE

Important notice

Please do not be discouraged if you are not a dancer. Admission to the Conservatory will not be determined based on dance ability, rather, we will use these videos to place you in the appropriate dance group so you are taking class with other students at your level. What is most important is that you send a video showing the level where you are now, and that you HAVE FUN in the dance video. A 30-second video of you step-touching with a smile on your face is plenty, and you should be proud of where you are!

Students may be asked to execute one or both of the following options. Each institution is responsible for indicating which options are accepted.

OPTIONAL BALLET SUPPLEMENT

Ballet Media should be no more than 60 seconds.
